I’m Joana, a Portuguese photographer based in Antwerp.

For eight years, I worked behind the scenes in the high-fashion industry as a photo retoucher. Photography was always part of my life, but life took me in different directions for a while.

Now I’ve returned to it with a different perspective — calmer, more attentive, and drawn to the small, honest moments between people.

I’m not interested in perfect poses. I prefer the in-between: the laughter, the quiet gestures, the way people naturally connect.

When I photograph families, couples, or mothers-to-be, my goal is simple — to create images that feel like they could only belong to you.
